When you go GREEN even little things count!
Did you know the average 17" CRT (big TV like) monitor uses approximately 22 kw hours of energy a month if you use it 8 hours a day?  That costs you $40 a year.

Earthbuddies101 computer monitor GREEN tips:

*LCD monitors aren't just trendy.  They use less KW hours

*If you can't upgrade you can use less energy by setting your monitor's background to black or a darker color.

*Programs like Word and Outlook can be set to display white or gray text on black (similar to this site) using less wattage.

*Screensavers do not save energy... they save your screen from being "burned" with an image.  To save energy turn off monitors you aren't using!

*Seek out and use dark backgrounded sites like Earthbuddies101.com. A great example is

Plastic newspaper bags getting out of control?
Earthbuddies101 plastic bag GREEN tip:

*These bags are perfect for poop scooping!  Don't have a dog of your own?  Call local animal shelters or dog walkers to see if they might want your bags!  Off leash areas in parks also have a place for bags.

*Families with a child in diapers can always make use of these bags especially those families using cloth diapers!

*These bags can be recycled with the plastic store bags that you put in the return bin at your local grocery or retailer.
